Here is our prompt for your first posts. We’re interested in stepping back a bit from some of the really big, sweeping questions that came up after Prof. Ingram’s opening lecture and in starting some close reading, which will be the basis of your first papers (project 1) in couple weeks.
1.) Select a brief passage from King’s “Letter,” no more than one hundred words long.
2.) Explain how this passage fits with the structure of the “Letter.”
3.) What are the five most important words of this passage? Why?
4.) What larger questions does the passage raise? For instance, how revolutionary does the passage seem to you? (And how are you measuring what is “revolutionary”?)
About 200 words total.
